In this post I'll talk about AISI 304N. First let's describe it and then have a look at its material's properties.

What is AISI 304N?

AISI 304N is a 304 variation that has additional nitrogen. It is mostly non-magnetic in nature. However when cold worked it acquires a slightly magnetic quality.

AISI Ranking Research (Stainless Steel)

While engineers will often look for the cheapest material they can use, I took a different approach to material's selection to help newbie students.

I ranked materials according to their yield strengths and AISI 304N currently ranks 27 in my yield strength index. This means there are other 26 materials that are more resistant.
