In this post I'll talk about AISI 434. First let's describe it and then have a look at its material's properties.
What is AISI 434?
AISI 434 is widely used thanks to the addition of molybdenum (As it increases this alloy's corrosion resistance). It combines good heat and oxidation resistance as well as good mechanical properties.Application
Automotive trim amd molding, furnace combustion chambers, dishwashers, range hoods, gas burners on heating units, gutters and down spouts, steam iron bases and flatware, nitric acid plant equipment, oil refinery equipment, roofing and siding and restaurant equipment.UNS Number

AISI Ranking Research (Stainless Steel)
While engineers will often look for the cheapest material they can use, I took a different approach to material's selection to help newbie students.I ranked materials according to their yield strengths and AISI 434 currently ranks 31 in my yield strength index. This means there are other 30 materials that are more resistant.
Note: I've analysed 77 materials in order to create an yield strength index. Check my material's comparison post for more details.
