ASTM A641 is a Specification for Zinc–Coated (Galvanized) Carbon Steel Wire

This specification covers soft, medium, and hard temper zinc-coated (galvanized) carbon steel wire in coils for general use.

Ok let's start with ASTM A641 chemical composition.

Chemical Composition

The steel from which the wire is produced shall be made by any commercially accepted steel making process.

Tensile Strength

Over 0.176 in

70 ksi max (Soft), 60 - 85 ksi (Medium), 75 - 105 ksi (Hard)
