A short answer to this question is…

The time rate of change of angular velocity.

The angular acceleration is the rate of change of angular velocity.

To find the average angular acceleration between two points in time (t 1 & t 2), we need to know the angular velocity at those two points (ω 1 & ω 2).

We can then use an equation to find the average angular acceleration: angular acceleration α = (ω 2 - ω 1) / (t 2 - t 1)
