In this article, I'd like to discuss "What is 'anchorage'". Let's look at what it is and how to respond to some frequently asked questions.
So the fastest answer is…
An area where a vessel anchors or may anchor because of either suitability or designation. Also: A device which anchors tendons to the posttensioned concrete member. Also: In pretensioning, a device used to anchor tendons temporarily during the hardening of the concrete.
Anchorages are where anchors are lowered and utilized, whereas moorings usually are tethering to buoys or something similar.
The locations usually have conditions for safe anchorage in protection from weather conditions, and other hazards.
