Definition
The specific gravity of reef tank is the ratio of the density of reef tank to that of a reference substance (Usually water).
This information can be used to tell whether reef tank will float (or sink) if dropped in water (Buoyancy).
Formula
SG = ρreef tank / ρwater
Note: Both densities need to be in the same unit as they will cancel each other and produce SG.
