Definition
The specific gravity of olive oil is the ratio of the density of olive oil to that of a reference substance (Usually water).
This information can be used to tell whether olive oil will float (or sink) if dropped in water (Buoyancy).
Formula
SG = ρolive oil / ρwater
Note: Both densities need to be in the same unit as they will cancel each other and produce SG.
