As anyone would guess, every atom has a group name assigned, even Nitrogen. But how do we know what is the group name for an atom of N?
First of all, if we know the atom symbol (or name), let's say N, we can open any periodic table and search for Nitrogen. If the periodic table is complete just scroll up and read the number on the top (from 1 to 18).
In the case of Nitrogen the group number is 15. However there is a lot of funny facts about Nitrogen that most people don't know. Shall we have a look?

That gives credibility to your paper and it is sometimes required in higher education.
To make your life (and citation) easier just copy & paste the information below into your assignment or essay:
Luz, Gelson. "Group Number of Nitrogen (& Uses, Sources ..." Materials. Gelsonluz.com. dd mmmm. yyyy. <URL>
Now replace dd, mmmm and yyyy with the day, month, and year you browsed this page. Also replace URL for the actual url of this page (The < and > stay, ok?). This citation format is based on MLA.
