Group Number of Chromium (& Uses, Sources ... 2022

As anyone would guess, every atom has a group name assigned, even Chromium. But how do we know what is the group name for an atom of Cr?

First of all, if we know the atom symbol (or name), let's say Cr, we can open any periodic table and search for Chromium. If the periodic table is complete just scroll up and read the number on the top (from 1 to 18).
