Definition
The density of foam is the weight of the foam per its volume.Formula
ρ = m / V
- ρ: Density
- m: mass
- V: Volume
Density vs Specific Weight vs Specific Gravity
I would like to point out that there are conceptual differences between density, specific weight and specific gravity. Follow the link if you want to learn more about these differences.With that said, this page will provide you the foam density in kg/m³ (SI unit), g/cm³, g/ml, kg/l, lb/ft³.
Density of Foam
The density of rigid polyurethane foam normally range between 30 kg/m³ and 45 kg/m³. It can reach 100 kg/m³, however.
𝛒 = 0.04 g/cm³
𝛒 = 40 kg/m³
𝛒 = 0.04 g/ml
𝛒 = 40 g/L
𝛒 = 40 g/L
𝛒 = 2.497 lb/ft³
